MTS has trained over 5,438  Command Staff,Supervisors, Officers and Deputies since 2012

 MTS is offering open courses at a central location for those who are able to send from one to ten personnel.


2025 Command Strategies and MFF Squad Leaders Course is now open, dates TBD in June 2025 and will be in Riverside, CA.

The June 20-22, 2023 Command Course was  an overwhelming success attended by three agencies. Unfortunately we lost three additional agencies that had to drop due to having their training funds pulled. (thanks de-fund movement)

Modern Tactical Services (MTS) was founded in 1994 and is dedicated to the training mission for Law Enforcement.  All courses are founded in tactics that have continued to evolve over years of real world events and continue to evolve to meet the daily new challenges that face Law Enforcement today. 

Courses, information, and tactical application of all elements are based on real world application and not theory, and taught by instructors that have applied these elements in real world events. MTS Instructors have extensive experience and are either current or retired members of the Los Angeles Police Department Metropolitan Division, and are experienced both in the training environment as well as practitioners in real events.

MTS specializes in Mobile Field Force Concept, Tactics and Operations in addition to Crowd Management, Crowd Control, Tactical Supervision, Less Lethal Munitions, Dealing with the Media, First Amendment issues ,  Command Staff Strategies in Crowd Control, and Mounted Unit Tactical Training.

Each course is deigned to the specific needs of the host department based on law, department policy, municipality and community expectations for a disciplined, well trained and professional department.

Our mission is to work with each individual agency to develop a curriculum that meets or exceeds agency needs and expectations.  At MTS we do not  believe in giving a generic patent program, but one that is developed based on each departments specific needs.  One size does not fit all!
